Background

Exploring New Horizons 2026

is one of the key initiatives launched by the Council of the Hong Kong Laureate Forum (the HKLF). The programme offers senior secondary school students the opportunity to visit laboratories at local universities and research institutions, where they can engage in dialogue with scientists and researchers. Through these experiences, students can gain deeper insights into the work of scientists, develop a stronger interest in science, and are inspired to pursue future research and scientific discovery.

Event Details

Event Period January to March 2025
Target Senior secondary school students in Hong Kong
No of Visits 16 sessions of visit to laboratories at local universities and research institutions
Capacity Each visit will accommodate around 10-50 students (depending on the capacity of the laboratory)
Transportation For groups of 15 or more members, the HKLF will provide free shuttle bus services between schools / pick-up points and the venues
Language The visits will be conducted in either Cantonese or English, depending on the combination of individual scientists and participants
Participation fee Free of charge

*Please enroll before 12:00 noon on 8 January 2026 (Thursday)
*Enrollment will be arranged on a first-come-first-served basis, we will try to arrange for the sessions according to the number of participants and your preferences. Confirmation of participating session will be sent via WhatsApp and email on or before 16 January 2026 (Friday).
